Fort Lauderdale, Boca Raton, and Broward County Dental Implants

People lose teeth for a variety of reasons, and often suffer because of it. Eating may become uncomfortable, and many people are embarrassed to smile or otherwise show their teeth in public. Dental implants are a durable, natural-looking solution to these problems. They are as strong, or stronger, than natural teeth, and as easy to care for. Dental implants are a more permanent alternative to dental bridges – though it takes longer for the procedure to be completed, they last longer as well. The practice of Dr. Manon Bourque-Hutchison, located near Fort Lauderdale and Boca Raton, in Broward County, places dental implants that are, functional, aesthetically pleasing, and long-lasting.

The Process

Placing dental implants is a multi-step process, often taking two or three visits over the course of several months. We start each procedure with a consultation between the patient and our staff, and a thorough dental examination. After answering any questions the patient may have, we drill a small hole in the jaw where the missing tooth was. A titanium screw is then placed in the hole, and left for several months. The unique properties of titanium allow the bone of the jaw to actually fuse with the metal, creating a bond like that between the natural teeth and the jawbone. After the titanium has bonded with the bone, we cement a replacement ceramic tooth over the screw, effectively creating a new tooth. We have had great success with this procedure, and positive feedback from our patients throughout the greater Boca Raton, Fort Lauderdale, and Broward County area. Dental implants are rapidly taking the place of dentures and dental bridges, and we encourage our patients to contact our practice to find out more.

Advantages of Dental Implants

The main advantage of dental implants is that they look and function just like natural teeth. The patient brushes and flosses them as he or she would a normal tooth, and activities like eating and talking are unchanged. Dental implants also last for many years if properly cared for, and generally last longer than dental bridges. With titanium roots, dental implants have been shown to be able to withstand the intense forces of biting and chewing as well as or better than natural teeth.
