Dental implants can help patients who are missing one or more of their natural teeth to regain confidence in their smiles and avoid oral health
complications that may result from tooth loss. Many patients have opted to receive dental implants at our Pompano Beach and Coconut Creek offices in order to restore health, beauty, and function to their mouths. The
periodontist at Dr. Manon Bourque-Hutchison’s cosmetic and restorative dentistry practice is board certified and experienced in
this procedure.
If you are interested in receiving dental implants, contact us at our Pompano Beach or Coconut Creek office today.
The process of receiving dental implants takes several months and begins with a consultation. During this time, patients receive a thorough dental examination and decide whether dental implants are a fit for them. This is followed by a second appointment, during which a small hole is drilled into the jaw, making room for a titanium screw which will serve as an artificial tooth root. Because titanium is not recognized as a foreign substance by the human body, this screw fuses with the jawbone over a period of two to six months. Once the jawbone has healed, patients revisit the office to have the replacement tooth placed over the screw. The replacement ceramic tooth is as strong as, if not stronger than, a patient’s natural teeth. Since we are able to perform all steps of the procedure from our office, our patients receive personal care throughout the entire process.
Patients who receive dental implants are able to enjoy the benefits of natural-looking, fully functional teeth. They are able to eat, speak, and care for their teeth just as they had before they experienced tooth loss. Dental implants look and feel like natural teeth, and help patients to avoid a variety of health problems that can result from missing teeth, including jaw misalignment, infection, and degradation of the jawbone. Dental implants also fit more comfortably and securely than removabledental bridges or dentures. With proper care, dental implants last an average of 15 to 20 years, and in some cases last a lifetime.
Our periodontist is board certified and is highly skilled in the dental implant procedure. If you are interested in learning more about dental implants, please contact us at our Pompano Beach or Coconut Creek office.
